Founder of CleanEFTTM
After I left home—my family, my church, everything familiar—I started having anxiety, and I had no idea why. I was working full-time, going to university full-time, and completely on my own for the first time. No guidance. No roadmap. Just this constant undercurrent of stress that didn’t make sense.
Then someone gave me Louise Hay’s, "You Can Heal Your Life." That book cracked something open for me. I had no idea our emotions could affect our physical health so directly. I practically studied it. I started asking people what their health complaints were just so I could look them up. I didn’t know what I was doing, but I knew I was onto something.
The mind-body connection was real.
That same year, I ended up in the hospital with chest pains. Four days, endless tests—no answers. I didn’t even do drugs. But it finally hit me: stress might actually be the culprit. I made a promise to myself that I’d never let stress take me down like that again.
I wandered a bit after that—traveled, worked odd jobs, tried to figure things out. I left computer science behind (even though that had seemed like “the smart path”) and started searching for something that made more sense for me. After a dozen personality tests and a lot of soul-searching, I found my way into a massage therapy school... which turned out to be a four-year program in Chinese medicine.
That was the beginning of my professional journey into healing. I learned about the acupuncture points, the way organs hold emotions, and how the body, mind, and spirit all talk to each other. Then I dove into nutrition—both holistic and Western—adding in knowledge of supplements, food, and pharmaceuticals. I was piecing together a big-picture understanding of how people work.
But one thing always bugged me: we never really learned how to work with emotions. We talked about them, but not to them or with them.
That’s when I found EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques aka "Tapping"). And it clicked. It was simple. Direct. Gentle. And it worked.
Then came Clean Language—and that changed everything. It gave me a way to be with people that was respectful, curious, and incredibly effective. I didn’t have to analyze or interpret. I could just ask the right kind of question and let their own words lead the way.
That’s what CleanEFT™ is. It’s the culmination of everything I’ve learned—Chinese medicine, nutrition, tapping, emotional healing, and the power of language. It’s a practice rooted in clarity, precision, and deep respect.
Your words. Your wisdom. Your way.
Want more? Daniel Sonntag is an experienced EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) practitioner who helps clients navigate emotions, clear stress, and release what’s been holding them back. Often called “tapping,” EFT is a practical, body-based method that combines modern psychology with the ancient wisdom of Chinese medicine. By gently tapping on acupuncture points along the body’s meridian lines, clients can ease anxiety, process emotional triggers, and find relief from a wide range of concerns—from stress and pain to habits, grief, and overwhelm. Daniel brings over 30 years of experience in holistic health, with a background in nutrition, Chinese medicine, and emotional healing. He is accredited and certified by EFT International (Member #17061959), an organization committed to the highest standards in EFT education, ethics, and practice worldwide. His healing journey began at the New York College of Health Professions, where he studied Amma Therapy (Asian Bodywork Therapy rooted in Chinese Medicine). That experience sparked a deep respect for the body’s natural ability to heal. He went on to earn a certification in Nutrition Response Testing through Ulan Nutritional Systems, a muscle-testing approach to uncovering hidden stressors and supporting the body’s needs nutritionally. Daniel has since turned his full attention to EFT and Clean Language—a precise and respectful way of working with a person’s own words to uncover deep truths and bring about lasting change. His sessions are gentle, intuitive, and profoundly client-centered. He lives in Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts, surrounded by the river, the hills, and a large, loving extended family.
